Umphrey's McGee

Cancellation Statement | Haymaker Productions

The Umphreys McGee show that was to take place tomorrow, 9/29 at Maymont, is cancelled. The band was to embark on a 4 date swing through the south starting in Richmond. With hurricane Ian predicted to hover over much of the region for the next few days, they decided rather than chance it, they would make the run another time. We are working hard with the band to find a new date in ‘23.  Tickets will be refunded and those who purchased tickets for this show will be sent a presale code when a new date is secured.

Now that the formal business is out of the way…

This is a huge blow to us here at Haymaker. We are longtime Umphrey’s fans. It seems like yesterday that my older brother handed me a copy of greatest hits volume III. In 1998 and demanded that I listen. We have worked with them many times including at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (when word got out at set-break that Michael Jackson had passed and the band blessed us with a few stellar MJ covers in the second set) and at Maymont when they teamed up with STS9 and got weird for us in the best of ways. Our love for these guys and their music won’t end anytime soon and we look forward to working with them again at Maymont in ‘23.

Be safe out there. Don’t forget your umbrella.
